The Clergy Wellness Commission
Work Agreements
POSITIONS DESCRIBED
In order to conform more closely with the clergy wellness guidelines
adopted by the Diocese of California in 1998, the Clergy Wellness Commission
has begun to rewrite and update the boiler plate work agreements currently
used by vestries in establishing contracts with their Rectors and Associate
priests. Below are draft copies of two work agreements, one for a Rector
and one for an Associate priest. These contracts are based on past work
agreements used by the Diocese of California and current clergy wellness
guidelines as stipulated in Clergy Wellness and Mutual Ministry. In preparing
these drafts, the Clergy Wellness Commission examined work agreements
from other Episcopal Dioceses, such as the Diocese of El Camino Real,
the Diocese of Minnesota and the Diocese of Maine. As of February 2001,
Diocesan Council of the Diocese of California has not yet officially approved
these draft work agreements.
